Spring 2026 Hekai Moonlight White

Complex fragrance and heavy sweetness. The medium oxidation level allows for a good balance between aroma and texture. It is very soft and warming. Good for an evening session, gongfu or grandpa style. 

You've had Jingmai moonlight white for years? It was time to overcome our chauvinistic tendencies and offer more variety on farmerleaf. Do you think the terroir can shine through white tea? Will this tea taste different from Jingmai? 

This is a classic "farmer white tea", with no fancy processing. Good quality material was harvested and laid on wide bamboo baskets. During early Spring, the hottest time in the year, the fresh leaves will dry within a day and keep half of their greenness.  

Since these white tea leaves don't receive  any kind of shaking or rolling during their processing, they tend to oxidize inconsistently. This is what makes all the charm and  complexity of white tea, not to mention the leaves will keep oxidizing over the years.
