1 bud/2 leaves bug bitten material
Unmanaged Qinxin Oolong plantation
Very obvious insect biting taste: umami and fragrance
This tea comes from a very low yield tea garden located in Fen Shui Ling, Jinggu area. The Qingxin oolong gardens were planted by a taiwanese tea maker and then reclaimed by a young local tea maker.
This is the third year Mr Zong has been making oriental beauty tea in his garden to complement his black tea production. This year the weather pattern led to a good insect activity in the gardens, hordes of jacobiasca formosana chewed on the growing leaves with their tiny mandibles, triggering a special chemical response in the leaves. The quality of oriental beauty really depends on the number of insects that come, and we are lucky this year.
Oriental beauty is my favorite choice when I go for a long drive, I brew a thermos bottle of it and it fills the whole car with its fragrance. You can't overbrew it, you can enjoy it grandpa style, gongfu style, hot or cold, it will be very accommodating and will make you happy every time!
Here is a video that shows his factory, we talk a lot about oriental beauty processing.
