This tea is mainly about the mouthfeel. The tea soup is active on the gums and leaves a trail of sweetness as it goes down the throat. Pleasant to drink on a hot day, it has a good cooling effect. No bitterness and low astringency. Good endurance.
Bangwai
Bangwai is located halfway between Jingmai and Mengku, in the North of Lancang County.

The place is famous for a single huge tea tree, thought to be 1700 years old. This tree attracts many visitors. Tea gardens of different ages are scattered around the mountains at a high altitude.

The tea has a soft character with a good fragrance. It can remind of Jingmai and Yiwu tea mixed together.

February 24, 2026. Beautiful day for tea (or anything)! Dry leaves are handsome and have a nice fresh sheng puerh scent. Milder dry scent than some of the other Farmerleaf teas. The dominant flavors are initially classic sheng bitterness and classic sheng vegetal (“spinach-y”), with the bitterness dominating in the early steeps but achieving a very nice balance by the third steep. Feels nice in the mouth, but more palate-focused. A very nice tea whose later steeps (8+) provide nice, mild, thoughtful brews that separates these flavors nicely. This would be a good tea for someone that likes the Farmerleaf style in a young sheng, but at 4g/75mg, is still full of flavor yet not overpowering. A nice offering!

This tea is a pleasant surprise for my collection!
The fragrance is a boquett of flowers and fruit, the texture is thick and oily with a mineral heavy finish.
The taste represents much of what i like in a good young puer, fast fleeting bitterness bite that dissipates immediately leaving a mouthfull of sweet flowers and a complex mouthcoating goodness. very green profile. i enjoy it a lot, highly recommended
