Have you ever found any bitterness in ripe Pu-erh? This one has a hint of it, a fairly light fermentation leaves the terroir to shine, although Jinuo Shan is not known for its bitterness.
As soon as the leaves open up, you'll get plenty of belgian beer-like thickness, a good feel of layering as the soup makes its way through your throat. Even a touch of Huigan can be felt, which is rare in this type of tea.
It pays to use good material when making Shu Pu-erh.
