Spring 2026, Tang Fang Liang Zi, Jinggu
Blend of big trees
Smooth and powerful, like a good Yiwu tea
Tasting notes:
opening with understated fruity and
slightly leathery fragrance.
heavy sweetness, medium thickness
fragrant soup, no bitterness
low astringency, hints of “gu shu smoke”
the material is older than usual,
which likely explain the heavy sweetness
and light mouthfeel
calming light Cha qi but weak Hui gan
This tea is one of my favorites this year. It has a good balance and is interesting to compare with the bangwai single trees or the teas from Laos. It is on the softer side with animal fragrance, no bitterness and astringency. It's hard to describe in words how different these teas are, I will write they are soft and Yiwu-like, but you will surely be able to taste their intricacies. This one is maybe a tad more aggressive than bangwai.
It will give you a good energy boost and can keep you entertained for an hour. The soup feels very lively in the mouth.
