This is a great daily drinker if you like a solid mouthfeel with plenty of upfront sweetness. Despite the young age of the trees, the soup feels decently thick and has a characteristic fruity fragrance. This is the kind of tea you can enjoy for hours, using long steeping times, it fits well both gongfu and grandpa brewing.
Bangwai
Bangwai is located halfway between Jingmai and Mengku, in the North of Lancang County.

The place is famous for a single huge tea tree, thought to be 1700 years old. This tree attracts many visitors. Tea gardens of different ages are scattered around the mountains at a high altitude.

The tea has a soft character with a good fragrance. It can remind of Jingmai and Yiwu tea mixed together.

Bought this tea because it's what I can afford. Definitely different than the cheap factory tuos with fence ripping throat feeling. It's true that the tea is on the softer side, hence it's easy to brew. Only made it 3 times so far and I'm not sure about the best brewing temp/time/ratio yet but it can take higher temperature water despite the young age. What I found interesting is that it tastes or at least reminds me of spring harvest green tea but without nuttiness and more on the fruity side. That typical fresh/corny/whatever flavour. Starting from the first steep to the last the taste stays kinda the same. So, all in all, it's a good tea that will be consumed and not stored for sure.

Sample was very nice. Very gentle would make a good daily driver. Lots of infusions lasts well, on the longer side of steeps. Only very slight bitterness which makes it a very easy drinker. Fruity melon nose and sweet taste. True its not complex but sometimes that's a good thing. Sort of tea that I could see myself taking to work for a quick session in the car while I'm on the road.

I received a sample of this, and it is very enjoyable. Very mild bitterness, moderate sweetness, and very high endurance. Some floral overtones, underripe melon, a hint of wet hay, and lingering pleasant vegetal notes. Very nice sample - I may need to buy a whole cake for myself.

I bought a sample of this and enjoyed it. I am on steep 10 or 11 now and it does have a good, sweet endurance with soft cantaloupe notes that remain on my tongue. Almost no bitterness even when pushed. A nice casual sheng, especially for the office.
