This gives a lighter fermentation with a stronger 'taste of the pile' or Dui Wei, but a better aging potential, retaining more of the raw material's character. \u003cbr\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e \u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThis tea will develop a more complex fragrance over the next years. The Dui Wei is quite strong as of November 2023, but it is still a pleasant one. The mouthfeel packs a good punch thanks to the low temperature fermentation. You will enjoy the juicy mix of sweetness and bitterness. The tea offers good dynamics, it is well-layered. This produces leaves with a higher concentration of tannins and gives a stronger taste. The heavy fermentation gives a very dark soup and a hint of chocolate in the fragrance. For its price, it features a decent minerality and some Huigan. The fragrance is muted and herbaceous, it is more enjoyed in the mouth than in the nose.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e \u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eDa Long Shan belongs to the Da Du Gang areas, where the first modern tea plantations were established in Southern Yunnan in the 1950s. It is not considered a famous area in Xishuangbanna, but the plantation tea produced there are a staple of the classic Menghai blends.
